Called "the bookshop with the neon beer sign in the window", North Light Books is an all-ages coffeeshop/bookshop/cafe/music venue and has been running a welcoming open mic for the past 8 years in Cotati. Multi-task in this remarkable bookshop where you can have dinner with a cold beer while watching the show or browse the shelves between acts.

Extremely egalitarian, be there at 7:30pm to pull a ticket from the hat (no call-in reservations). As your ticket number is called, sign your name up for a any 10-minute slot between 8-11pm. This event can feature anything from someone's 9-year-old kid sister playing the accordian to someone's 90-year-old grandpa doing magic tricks. The quality of performance is pretty good and the all-ages atmosphere is downright friendly.

Signup: 7:30 walk-in, grab a ticket. Ticketholders choose their slot in the order pulled.
