This may be one of the coolest open mic venues in the city. The Empire Plush Room is an old 1920's speakeasy that still hosts cabaret shows during other nights of the week. Host Gregory Bland started up this Monday night open mic and performing a slot here has got to be like stepping back in time to the era of ellicit drinks and underground entertainment. Show up around 8 o'clock and express your interest in performing to Gregory. The house band will open up the show and then Gregory or the other hosts may do a few numbers before asking people up. This is a musical open mic, no spoken word, please.
