MCDUFF'S BLACK VELVET STOUT
In the scottish southern city of Dunedin, New Zealand, McDuff's brewery (formerly "Duff's" until the Simpson's TV show sued them for international copyright infringement) produced a very small batch of beer in 2002 called "Black Velvet." Across town, "Wilson's," the southernmost Whiskey distillery in the world, ceased operation a few years back. Mr. Duff got ahold of a few of Wilson's recently emptied wooden whiskey casks and aged one of his stouts in them. The batch was small, so he didn't even print proper labels, he just hung a tag around the necks of the bottles describing the beer and slapped a generic "specialty" brew label on them. This may be one of the nicest things I've ever put in my mouth.
